The Viper V2 quickly became a best seller with the vicious tanto blade shape and aggressive jimping along the spine. It was an easy decision to drop this blade onto a Rapid Fire body. The Rapid Fire Viper blade shape is slightly wider and shorter than the XL due to the different geometry, which creates a very robust tanto blade and center point tip that’s built for hard-use cutting and piercing. We used Cryogenic D2 blade steel, the same steel as our robust Tracker-X3 and Alpha-Dog fixed blade knives. D2 is an extremely tough steel that is very close to stainless, excellent corrosion resistance, incredible edge retention, holding an edge even after tons of hard-use. To enhance the benefits of D2 even more, we used a Cryo treatment and coated it with a tumbled Titanium Nitride (TINI) coating. The benefits the cryogenic process: Additional corrosion resistant properties, increased durability and edge retention.
Grippy G10 Scales
If it ain’t broke…our Rapid Fire elongated honeycomb texture has been a favorite for our Rapid Fire customers, so why change a good thing? If you’ve never handled a Rapid Fire grip, it’s very comparable to the beefy ZT (Zero Tolerance) 0303 knife, bottom line, it’s a comfortable and confident four finger grip, with or without gloves. Deep Carry
Our Rapid Fire knives are on the large side of EDC, but they don’t carry as such. The Rapid Fire knives ride deep in your pocket, the clip can be worn left or right, tip-up carry. With a .4375″ thickness, you’ll forget it’s there…until you need it.
